Peter Wing Healey

had a long career as a dancer in New York City and later in Los Angeles.

JANE HEIR

Jane Eyre’s husband, Mr. Rochester, has died and her old friend St. John Rivers comes to take her away to the tropics.  In her absence her estate is taken over by Livia and Chester Servermoor, ruthless Corporate Owners of Global Fad.  Can Jane, now a prisoner in her own gothic mansion ever regain her power?

THE MUMMY

1986

was a Dance/Opera created from the the Boris Karloff film 1932 “The Mummy”.  The text was by Peter Wing Healey and the music was arranged from various sources with the help of Janet Norquist.


The first part was a complete performance of a Dance/Opera called “The Precious Flower” which had been done first at The Riverside Church Dance Festival and a few months later at Middle Collegiate Church.


The show ran for 4 weeks to audiences of various sizes and included the entire “Bolero” of Ravel done as a Egytian Funeral.


The show was a co-production with The Divine Theater Company which was in residence at The Middle Collegiate Church in the East Village of New York

THE NORMA

The Norma of the Mesopotamian Opera is a work written by Peter Wing Healey with music by Linda Dowdell.  


Presented at R.A.P.P. Arts Theater in New York City in 1991 and again at the Greenwich House Theater in 1992.


Norma, a Priestess of the Goddess living in the redwood forests of California faces off against her former husband, King Paul, king of the industrial Grid .  They fight over their daughter Carrie.  King Paul wants to take her to Mars to found a colony as the Earth is about to be utterly destroyed.
