IIThe Norma of the Mesopotamian Opera uses as a point of departure the operatic character of Norma, from the eponymous Bellini opera. A high priestess of The Goddess lives in a camp in the woods of California with her band of followers, while outside "The Grid", the industrial world, nears its final days of destruction. King Paul, Master of the Grid comes to Norma to beg her to reveal the wherabouts of his long lost daughter. He plans to leave in a spaceship to live in a plastic pod on Mars as the Earth finally becomes uninhabitable.
